Advanced Tutoring

Advanced Tutoring is a Supplemental Education Services (SES) provider for middle and high school students in the Flint, Beecher, and Westwood Heights school districts. Therefore, all students who attend Holmes Middle School, McKinley Middle School, Flint Northern High School, Flint Northwestern High School, Hamady High School, Beecher High School – and are eligible for free school lunches – can take advantage of Advanced Tutoring’s FREE afterschool tutoring services in math writing and language arts.

Daughters of Destiny

Daughters of Destiny is an innovative and successful mentoring program for area girls and young women between the ages of 7 and 18. Program mentors are mothers, grandmothers and single women focused on building the self-esteem and leadership skills of program participants in a positive and empowering environment. As a result, girls and young women emerge from the comprehensive program stronger, wiser and more confident than ever.

Mighty Men of Valor

Mighty Men of Valor is a mentoring program that serves young men ages 8–18 who live throughout Genesee County, although 90 percent of program participants reside within the City of Flint. Parents of mentored children have credited the program for making a positive difference in the lives of their sons, student grades have improved, and mentors have commented on noticeable improvements in the attitudes and conversations of those being mentored.

Marriage and Relationship Counseling

Participation in Ministry and Community Center’s marriage enrichment programs, counseling services and responsible fatherhood activities is open to the public. The ages of program participants is quite varied and ranges from 15-year-old expectant fathers and other teens who are thinking about entering a relationship, to couples who have been married for more than 50 years.

A Starting Point

Violence takes many forms and can happen all the time or once in while. Victems can be of any age, sex, culture, or race. We are here to help the victims and have partnered with the Victim Advocacy Program of Genesee County to help make a difference. We educated and provide resources to help victims of abuse recover. We strive to heal the community, one victim at a time.
